Our Program
Welcome to AEIOU Early Learning Childcare!
At AEIOU, we’re all about creating a safe, welcoming, and fun space where children can learn and grow. We’re open Monday to Friday, 7 am to 6 pm, 50 weeks a year (closing for two weeks over Christmas and New Year).
Our programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and our own curriculum, focusing on building life skills, independence, and embracing diversity. Our passionate team is dedicated to helping every child reach their full potential. We also value parent involvement and provide monthly newsletters and regular updates to keep you connected.
Our purpose-built centre features five learning rooms tailored to different age groups (from 6 weeks to 6 years) – Nursery, Toddlers, Kindergarten, Supported Learning Space plus a specialised classroom offering early intervention for autistic children aged 2 to 6.
Nursery (6 weeks-2 years)
Starting childcare can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to create a smooth and supportive experience. Our caring educators aim to understand you and your child’s home routine to help maintain consistency with what you do at home and their time in our care.
We focus on creating meaningful connections to support your child’s development with a holistic approach. From conversations and songs to stories, we nurture language and social growth. You’ll also receive a daily report about your child’s feeding, sleep, and toileting.
Toddlers (2-3 years)
Our toddler program helps build confidence, independence, and emerging skills in a safe and nurturing environment. Our qualified and experienced educators deliver a program which provides each child with the confidence to explore their learning environment and allows them to know what is happening each day.
We guide their growing independence—like toilet training and dressing themselves—and use positive guidance strategies to support friendships and empathy. You’ll get daily updates on their eating, sleeping, and toileting routines.
Kindergarten (3+ years)
Our kindergarten program offers flexible hours for busy families.
Friendships and cooperative play blossom here. Our program encourages peer interaction to extend your child’s learning throughout all areas of their development. We also incorporate activities and symbols in their play to lay the foundation for literacy and numeracy. Importantly we work closely with families to understand and support your child’s unique personality and development.
For children about to enter formal learning our specialised program reflects the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines. Our university qualified Early Childhood Teacher has extensive knowledge in these guidelines and is well equipped to provide an outstanding educational kindergarten program informed by best practice. This ensures your child develops the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully enter formal schooling and develop a passion and love for life-long learning.
Supported Learning Space (2-6 years)
Building on 20 years of experience in delivering specialist education and therapy support, the Supported Learning Space program offers nurturing childcare tailored specifically for children with autism or Global Developmental Delays (GDD).
- Small Class Sizes: A maximum of 12 children per room ensures high staff-to-child ratios, giving your child the support and attention they need.
- No NDIS Funding Required: All you need is eligibility for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) to access our program.
- Flexible Support: While this program doesn’t include therapy, it can be seamlessly combined with our private therapy services if desired.
Our experienced and highly trained educators focus on building your child’s developmental, social, and emotional skills. This program bridges the gap between AEIOU’s therapy services and mainstream education, helping your child develop confidence, independence, and essential skills in a supportive and structured setting.
Early Intervention – Autism Specific ‘Gigum Room’ (2-6 years)
Our Gigum Room provides tailored early intervention for autistic children aged 2 to 6. With therapy from Behaviour Therapists, Speech Pathologists, and Occupational Therapists, we focus on individualised support.
